goodnightheaven

last night, view from my balcony.

What a view…
White sheep running in the blue sky under the golden sunlight.

home very sweet home

Well, time to make my home a sweeter home…
a lot of inspiration and new ideas from the last months are finally getting real.

Tonight I'll sleep my first night in my new bed.
Didn't want to have one, I thought I'll move soon again anyway.

Well, maybe I'll stay here longer then I thought.

Time to put the suitcases down (…for a while).

(Thank God there is IKEA. I'm a big fan of scandinavian design and if it is affordable, even better. And thank God for the one who invented the electronic screwdriver. Thank you Steve, I would be screwed without it!)

Two faces

The Two Faces of January
from Hussein Amini

This going to be good. A really good movie.

Can't wait...

Bird People

"Bird People"
by Pascale Ferran.

An other movie on my "to see" list:

In the Paris airport zone, two strangers are trying to make sense out of their lives: an American engineer under professional and emotional pressure who decides to radically change the course of his life, and a young hotel chambermaid who faces a life-altering supernatural experience.

someplace else

Someplace Else is a short film which follows a collective of creative legends from all around the world – including Ozzie and fellow surfer Dylan Graves, musician Hanni El Khatib, skateboarder Andrew Brophy, and artists Jeff Canham and Rose Ashton – bound together by Corona Extra for a bus trip down the forgotten back roads of the Mexican coast.

mieux vaut...

"Mieux vaut être en retard dans ce monde qu'en avance dans l'autre…"

(Better to be late in this world than be too early in the other one…)

Heard today on radio COULEUR3.
So don't worry if you're late.

botanic colors

Here is a mix of exotic plants.
What I'm looking for is the special structure, color, shape, pattern…
Wait to see the better quality pictures from my camera.

botanic blacknwhites

Here some pictures from my iPhone. The ones from my camera will be better.
I unfortunately have to clue of the name of those plants.
They were in the tropical area.
Why would nature paint white stripes on those leaves? I don't know but it's fantastic.
I don't see a "normal" plant. I see an art work.

into the green

My first visit to the botanic garden in Zurich.
A small paradise.
Had fun shooting strange plants I don't remember the name in the tropical area (sweating like hell due to the tropical temperature in there…).
Pictures are on their way...

No it's not an Art show.
It's a waiting room (at the gynecologist…)

I don't know what I would do without reading.
I would probably die.
Reading is like breathing.

walk on the wild side

Having fun at IKEA's...

new ways

After one year sleeping on the floor, time has come for a bed. And other furniture that I need but didn't have time to buy it. Or didn't want to because I was thinking "I will move soon anyway to another place", the less I have the better it is.
Well, maybe it's time to settle down (for a while) and buy a bed!
I discovered a way to walk straight to IKEA by foot instead of taking the bus.
And I discovered a nice area of where I'm living.
There was a strong cold wind and the clouds were chasing each other in the sky.

My head was cool enough to keep calm in the kilometers of labyrinth in IKEA.
I'm a big fan of that swedish brand and a loyal customer since years. I can put together a MALM commode with closed eyes.
I found my bed and other furniture I needed.
Next week I will assemble it (this is real fun every time) and hope not to have to disassemble it for a while.

girls night out

It was a fun diner at Hiltl (one of the first vegetarian restaurant worldwide according to their website…) with my old friend Sara aka Timmy (that's an insider… too long to explain).
We sit next to each other at work.
She had to endure me 8 hours a day, five days a week since 6 years…in good times and in bad times.
It makes a bit more than 11'280 hours (without holidays)...

She was always there for me and it's wonderful.
We became friends.

As I say, love comes and goes but real friends are for ever and that's precious.

Arizona Dream

Iggy Pop "In the Death Car"

Soundtrack from Emir Kusturica's "Arizona Dream".

That movie made such a strong impression on me (and that song too). I saw it several times and it is one of my all time favorite. Since then I watched every movie of Emir Kusturica. He is to me a genius creating his own world, totally crazy and sometimes absurd but it makes totally sense. Beside that I love his sense of humor.
And there is always that melancholic touch that emanates from his movies. I think it is typical from Balkan and Slavic cultures and you can (do you? well, I do) feel it in their Art (music, movies, theater etc.)

Sometimes I wish the real world would be as crazy as an "Arizona Dream" with swimming fishes in the air, floating chairs and funny people around...

Crooked Colors

Crooked Colors "Come Down"

I discovered it today on radio.

No the mainstream radio. Like Iggy Pop says in one song "I don't turn up the radio 'cause they play shit… you know".
Some alternative radio which is good or even great sometimes and really strange other times.
But at least you don't have to much bla bla and that's good.

still yellow

And I need yellow.

I never like that color and all of the sudden, I started to like it and wanted a yellow touch in my living room.
I bought some yellow paint, put a bit of white and here we go…

And yes, I feel much better now.

never ending

from pure white to golden

Over  one year ago I painted that board with white, many layers of white. While the paint was slowly drying I would add another layer on it and so on. A structure of dried paint and the movements of my brush start to appear.

In my new flat I needed some gold and painted over that white board.
It is kind of addicting watching the structures appear while brushing the paint. I could go for hours… to know when to stop is the most difficult.
I guess that painting is a never ending one.
And that is good like that.

sweet disposition

The Temper Trap "Sweet Disposition"

From their album "Conditions" from 2009, great sound that I discovered not long ago.

The album is really nice but songs like "Love Lost", "Rest" and especially "Fools"are my favorites.

Beside great sound they have really special music videos, like this one:

The Temper Trap "Science of Fear".

creative happiness

I found some old sunnies and wanted to make them look fun and ready for my Vegas trip.

And I realized how happy I was every time I used my creativity. Since weeks I didn't do anything, too much pain.

Is it in photography, drawing, painting, writing poems, designing, decorating my apartment but also cooking...

I red somewhere a phrase: "do what you love and do it often".

Is it the key to happiness?

I wish I could spend my 8 hours a day doing things I love instead of sitting in an office (sorry boss…).

Use my full potential and make it grow every day.

Amen.
