deep down under water

Untitled work
Acrylic on canvas by Trish Taylor.

I am in love with this deep blue. During my meditations and reiki practice, I often see this deep blue. It's very calming and soothing.

I've got the blues

As the heat outside reaches daily over 45 degrees Celsius (we're in the desert...), I reached for some cooling blues in the studio. Starting a new painting, maybe a series of blues coming for the next exhibition that might be in fall 2017. My elbow isn't healed yet but I had the need to paint on bigger format again.
Pure joy and fun working big again!

untitled greens

Acrylics on canvas (details of the painting)
Trish Taylor

My elbow injury still doesn't allow me to work on bigger pieces using large brush so I keep working on details and smaller paintings. It is sometimes hard to decide when to stop. When is a painting finished? Sometimes wanting to make it better can destroy the flow in it and then you have to work over it, trying to find a new flow. Don't get too attached to it, as it is with life, it is a constant change process. Change is the only constant in life.

Endless possibilities...
Working on a wood board with acrylics. Favorite colors change but at the moment it is this deep blue, as mysterious as the deep blue sea.

Lady Red

"Lady Red", 2017
Acrylic on photo paper
by Trish Taylor

This was done for a lovely lady who loves that kind of fire red. I was inspired by a Japanese koi fish print I have with deep blue and this fire red. It is a great color combination and I absolutely love the photo paper medium for its smooth texture which is perfect for my technique of layers.

deep blue sea

A commission work I did for dear friends of mine. The challenge was to paint over the stucco of an old painting using my technique. It was a struggle at first but finally worked and we're all happy with the result. This artwork will be hanging in my friends new home in a few weeks.
I am thankful for that artistic challenge!
